Just Love – Northshore Disciples is currently working with those on the ground coordinating aid to Hurricane Laura evacuees who are staying in hotels in New Orleans. Over 3,000 evacuees are being housed in New Orleans at this time. The hurricane victims were forced to leave shelters to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The evacuees we are helping are some our most vulnerable neighbors- small children and the elderly. With a grant from Week of Compassion and direct donations from across the country, we have been able to deliver two van loads of supplies for the evacuees, including: baby formula, Depends, diapers, bottles, baby food and baby wipes. There continues to be a need for baby formula, diapers and walking canes for the elderly. Just Love plans to continue purchasing items and making deliveries as long as there is a need and funds are available. If you would like to help, you can make a tax-deductible gift to Just Love – Northshore Disciples and mark your donation “Hurricane Relief.” We will immediately purchase the items most urgently needed and deliver to those distributing supplies.
