Fostering the Families

On the third Thursday on the Eastbank, foster families gather for an evening of warmth, connection, and care. These nights are called "Fostering the Families," they exist for one simple but powerful reason: the people who open their homes to foster children deserve spaces where they are cared for, too.

Fostering children is a beautiful and life-changing act of love—but it's also incredibly hard. That's why "Fostering the Families" was created. A space where those who care for foster children can be cared for themselves. Here, foster parents can share struggles, swap stories, and find strength in community. Because the best way to nurture children is to make sure the adults who love them are supported, too.

You can be part of this effort by investing financially, joining the food prep team, or becoming part of the hospitality crew that shows up each month to serve, smile, and make it all feel like home. We've all heard the old saying, "It takes a village to raise a child", and "Fostering the Families" is how we can turn words into action and show these families that they're not alone, are seen, appreciated, and loved.

Details: every 3rd Thursday of the month, 6-7:30pm at Munholland Methodist (1201 Metairie Rd.)
